Xi-Zhi Niu

Xi-Zhi Niu is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering and the Arizona Laboratory for Emerging Contaminants (ALEC) at the University of Arizona since 2018. He received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees all in environmental sciences from Northeastern University (Shenyang, China), King Abdullah University of Science of Technology (KAUST, Saudi Arabia), and Curtin University (Western Australia), respectively. Xi-Zhi also worked in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates in his gap year in 2014. His research interests include aquatic photochemistry, natural organic matter, and environmental analysis. Currently, Xi-Zhi works with PIs Field, Sierra, and Chorover on trace-level analysis, fate, and properties for compounds of environmental concern.
